Do you think you can post the spelling sheet on this website. The sheet that describes what the student must do for each number for the week.(ie 6,8,10). I go online from work and would like to know what my daughter (Madison) is supposed to do. This way, I can explain to her (when she gets home )over the phone while I am at work. Since I am the parent that is responsible for making sure she does her homework and correctly.
This year, we will be using the Common Core Learning Standards. More information about these standards can be found at this website: Core Standards.
This month we will be tackling many new things in our subject areas.
In reading, we will be building stamina with independent reading as well as moving into more challenging books. We will put continual emphasis on nonfiction stories.
In writing, we will be practicing writing realistic stories and continuing to work on writing mechanics (writing on the lines, word spacing, punctuation.) We are also learning about adding suspense to our stories.
In social studies, we will be learning about New York's geography and history. We are also touching upon New York's connection to the past.
In science, we will be exploring nature around us, particularly different types of experiments. We are also learning about different types of force.
In math, we will be working on money and time, as well as introducing more complex word problems. We are also continuing addition and subtraction work.
In gym, we will be building endurance and strength through various physical activities. Be sure to get at least 30 minutes of exercise each day!
